- impact on tongue and jaw like a normal snaffle bit: cheek piece buckled in the upper small ring and reins in the large ring
- medium leverage on tongue, jaw and poll: cheek piece in upper small ring, pelham strap/connector strap buckled in lower small ring and large ring
- targeted reinforcement of aids with the use of leverage on the tongue, jaw and poll (by taking up the lower rein): cheek piece in the upper small ring, one pair of reins each in the large and in the small lower ring
